Having a blast painting in Benicia, California with my friend Lisa Haas. We were doing a paint out and working quickly to the painting on the canvas because it was so hot and windy. Crazy day.

May In California Painting on the coast of California in May with a group of plein air artists was so much fun. The weather turned out to warm up and the coast painting was complete of Carmel Beach.
March Maddness Seems like March is the month I feel like finding flowers where ever they maybe. I am always looking for that perfect scene to paint. In Texas in March there I am always stopping and taking photographs for painting references. I also take the time to frame up my artwork that I have completed in the Winter. The Finishing Touch Framing paintings is like putting jewels on your artwork. Or its like decorating the last bit with flowers for an event. It's the light that makes your art shine. It can either make or break a piece of work. It also is the difference between dressing up or dressing down. I would rather have a piece of cake with frosting than without. Just like a painting, make it stand out with a frame. One of my Spring time joys is to come out of my art studio and paint outside. I set up my french easel and begin to experience nature. As a look around for the best spots to paint I realize they are right in my back yard. The pine and the oak trees with the sunsets, the green fresh grass with wildflowers and the beauty of the small rolling hills and ponds are just a slight drive away. I can't wait to see what I will get to paint.
I have been studying the colors and seas of UK so that I can finish painting that special commission oil painting of waters. I have the painting layers laid out and the 5 colors of layers designed.
My new artist friend and I are sketching at Kennsington Italian Gardens. Two hours of painting gives a brief time to capture the scene before clouds come in .
